The Littles for December are finished! What a fun way to keep my creative juices flowing through the rush of the holidays and life in general. It only takes a few minutes to make these tiny sketches of something want to remember from the day, and add a little color. And now I have a tiny illustrated journal of what happened during the month. I am excited and ready to begin a new spread of Littles in January 2019. This time I plan to use squares instead of rectangles for a little more drawing room – about 2″x 2″. I won’t worry about following a “calendar” format, but just start filling in squares and when the page is full I will begin a new spread, whatever the date happens to be. I will try not to miss a day, but if I do I won’t worry about it and just do a sketch for the next day.
If you enjoyed seeing these Littles, you might have fun starting some of your own! Whatever you do, stay creative. Happy New Year!
A lovely way to remember little snapshots of the day.
Happy New Year xx

Madeforsewing, I am happy that you will enjoy doing daily little sketches. They don’t take much time and are really fun. And art should always be about expressing your story in your way, never about competition. ENJOY!

OMG. That’s beautiful. I can’t draw but this makes me think of my readings. If I made littles of what I read each day (books, magazines, blogs, tweets) it’d look something like this I imagine. Happy New Year to you and thank you for sharing your creativity with us. I get happy every time I visit and see your drawings.

What a good idea Sandy Lee! Yes, I think you could use this idea for reading. It is like baby steps. And all those little steps add up to something bigger. Thank you for your visits and encouraging comments. I am so glad my work brings you happiness. Blessings. ❤️

I love these! I have a watercolor journal that I don’t often use because I don’t want to waste the pages but an never sure what to do with them. I think I’ll try to do these little snap shots on days I don’t have another project I’m working on… For those days I just don’t know what to paint. 🙂
Excited to follow you!
Blessings,
